Baddox & Boatside - South Tyne - Upper Coastley

This stretch of the river has changed a lot in the last few years. In Upper Coastley, the river has two main streams, on either side of the eyots or islands, but these channels eventually converge into one stream.  From here it is possible to wade all the way down under the power lines (careful casting!).

It is safer to commence fishing on a rocky outcrop off the right bank beyond the power lines.  This allows casting over a midstream rock (marked X on map) which is covered in high water. Fish lie below this rock but closer to the Right Bank

Most fish are caught whilst fishing the tails of pools or fast water on the fly.
